What my clients have to say,
Back Pain Eased By Trainer
For over ten tears I have suffered with lower back pain. I have been going to a chiropractor and taking pain pills constantly. But the relief was only temporary. I decided to join a gym because, at the age of 72, I had heard that physical exercise would help the body last longer. I obtained a trainer who provided good workouts resulting in a stronger body. But the lower back remained painful. A new trainer, Stephanie McLaughlin, took over my training and within two months not only did the pain in my back deminish considerably but I also got a feeling of well being. She used different equipment and techniques than my previous trainer and, I would say, understands an older body and how to keep it going. Thank you Stephanie!!

At the age of 54 I decided that if I did not get into a regular routine of exercising that I was a heart attack waiting to happen. Not knowing where to start , I decided to obtain the services of a personal trainer. After trying not one but two different trainers, I was disappointed in their technique and style and I was ready to give up on a "Trainer". That is when a friend referred me to Stephanie McLaughlin. Wow, what a difference from the other trainers Stephanie is. She is very knowledgeable on the parts of the body and what exercises and routines are best suited for what you want to accomplish. Stephanie is very detail oriented when it comes to the "project" at hand. Working on different parts of the body at sessions planned for the month, I cannot help but feel that I am going in the right direction! I am now starting my sixth month with Stephanie and cannot imagine continuing my exercise routine without the professional direction of Stephanie McLaughlin.

Hi Stephanie
Boy, these past months have sure gone by quickly. My working out with you has given me so many benefits !!
I am a diabetic and my blood sugar numbers were not within the normal, healthy range. I was on medications for the diabetes. My doctor also stated my blood pressure was high enough that he wanted to start me on blood pressure medication. I started working with you to achieve a fitness goal, and you have given me a new awareness of physical fitness and healthy living.
Two and a half months after we started working out, I had a doctors' appointment and to my surprise, my blood sugar numbers were so good that the doctor wil be taken me off one of my medications and if I continued to do well, I will be taken off the other and will be able to maintain good blood sugars with just healthy eating habits and exercise. He also said my blood pressure was well within normal ranges and there will be no need for medication for that. He said " whatever you are doing, keep it up " !!
I started out wanting to learn a more healthy lifestyle and you have given me that along with weight loss and many inches lost in the most important places (smile). So I wanted to take the time to say Thank You for your assistance in helping me achieve a more healthy lifestyle.
Blessings !!
My daughter was enrolled in public school from kindergarten through 5th grade (with the exception of 3rd grade). We started homeschooling by her 3rd grade year and now her 6th grade year. She says that Stephanie is the best P.E. teacher she has ever had. She did not like P.E. in public school because she said she was any good at sports and she wasn’t able to do a sit up. She was very self conscious and felt like she was the skinniest person in the world. There was a rumor going around that she was anorexic, (which she is not). Stephanie has a way of focusing on each child’s individual strengths and weakness without making them feel inferior. Stephanie is very creative in her classes. Instead of having the kids run around the school yard and do sit ups and push ups she goes on nature walks, scavenger hunts, ice skating escapades and much more. I believe Stephanie has helped to give my daughter more self esteem and confidence. Christina has also become more physically fit since taking her classes. I would recommend Stephanie to any home school children who need more physical activity.
Stephanie McLaughlin has been a wonderful addition to my daughter’s life. My daughter is not very athletic and her large motor skills are not on par with her age group. Somehow, Stephanie manages to encourage and stimulate Shannon to keep up and do more than she would usually be inclined to do without making Shannon feel intimidated or “less able” than the other kids. In fact, gym class has become the highlight of Shannon’s week!

I’m doing what!!!! Did you say exercise?
One year ago I decided that it was time to get off of the couch and start moving. Being 58 and retired, obese and dealing with diabetes, I realized that it was time to look after me if I was going to continue being able to help those I love.
During my regular appointment at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, I saw a flyer about a new wellness program. The program consisted of working with a nutritionist, the nurse practitioner and a personal trainer. The first step was to meet with the NP who checked me out. I really believe that deep down inside I was convinced that if I started to exercise I would have a heart attack because I was in such poor physical shape. When the NP asked me how committed I was I assured her that I was totally committed. However, deep down I was really thinking… I can do this for 3 months.
Once I met Stephanie and made it through the first day of exercise, I knew I would be OK. She was so supportive and encouraged me throughout each class. There has never been a time throughout the past year that I felt that I could not do whatever challenge Stephanie put before us. Whenever she recognizes that a particular move is hard for anyone, she is there to immediately provide encouragement and suggestions for modification so that we still get the full benefit of working out.
Although retired, I still work part time with low performing schools. Since I am often called upon to travel, Stephanie offered to work with me to develop a workout plan that I could use at the hotel while on the road. What a blessing this has been!
I am now beginning my second year of participating in the wellness program and working with Stephanie. I can tell you that she is my biggest cheerleader! Without the encouragement and support that Stephanie provides, I know that I would still be sitting on that couch. Today I am healthier, 18 pounds lighter and 29 inches smaller. I have a long way to go, but know that the relationship I have formed with Stephanie as a personal trainer and as a friend will keep me working towards my goal. In the meantime, I am having a blast rolling on the floor playing with precious grandbabies, working in my garden (which I would have never done before), and being active as much as time allows.
